The Call to Action

As far back as 130 years ago, the Pawtuxet River was considered very polluted. In the past 
30 years, amazing progress has been made to restore the quality of what is truly a vital 
source of water for the state of Rhode Island. However, much more remains to be done to 
make the Pawtuxet River a natural resource to admire and enjoy. While the government 
can establish standards for enviornmental protection and spend tax dollars, it takes the 
combined effort of citizens and business to provide the greatest impact.

Getting Involved

Membership in the PRAWC and participation in volunteer projects provides an opportunity 
for you to get involved and protect the Pawtuxet River for the future. To recieve more info-
