PRAWC Annual Report

The Pawtuxet River Authority & Watershed Council welcomes all our supporters- from our 
board to our members, staff and volunteers.

In the past we’ve made an historic effort through allocating funds for three sewage treat-
ment plants on the Pawtuxet River to upgrade their river discharges to tertiary treatment 
levels.  Now the discharged water in this category is nearly drinkable.

And this year, as we embrace new initiatives, we must continue to educate those in our 
community in order to achieve another successful year, while moving forward with several 
new projects. We’re strongly committed to advocating for the elimination of industrial dis-
charge of waste to the river and the application of techniques to improve non-point source 
discharges such as storm water from paved areas, storm drains and septic systems.  

We still have a serious battle ahead of us and as we continue to reach for new historic 
grounds we urge everyone in our surrounding community to participate in support of our
